The 10 Book Questions Tag {Feat. Kara}

Yep, another tag. And a bookish one, too. Doesn't get much better than that, right??

So, anyway, I was tagged by Brooklyne at Showers of Blessings for this tag (actually I thought it looked really cool so I commented on her post and she tagged me . . . minor details) for what's originally called the 20 Book Questions Tag, buuuut there's only 10 questions. So, without further ado, I present . . .

The Rules:
-Thank the person who nominated you. (Thank you, Brooklyne!)
-Answer the questions you were asked.
-Nominate at least 5 bloggers.
-Give them 10 questions to answer!

So, before we get to the questions, here is where I will allow Kara to pop in and say hello!

Hey guyssssss!

Okay, now that formalities are over, the questions!

1. What genre do you read the most?
Originally I'd say historical fiction, but recently I've branched into contemporary quite a bit. I'm finding it hard to pick between the two anymore. ;)

I read mostly historical fiction, but I have read several contemporary series that I loved. I'll read pretty much anything with horses! ;P

2. Do you prefer books that are in a series?
Oh, yes. Especially if I love the first book. I mean, who doesn't want to read more books about the characters they fall in love with? I especially love it when the main character in one series becomes a side character in a different series by the same author, or vice versa.

Definitely. Absolutely. Completely. I love series, because you can get to know the characters better. Honestly, I'll be in the middle of a series, and I'll just start lecturing one of the characters for something they do or say in the book. Like fighting with a sibling, or complaining about something one of the other characters did— I'll just be like, "They did that to help you, ya know! Just stuff it!"... Yeah..... I have problems.

Yes, you have many problems.

3. On average, how many books do you read a month?
Ummmm . . . I used to read probably 7 or 8 books in a month . . . but lately it's probably been closer to 4 or 5. Or less. Which is a very, very sad fact. But I just joined NetGalley last month (it's amaze, y'all), and I've been reading a bit more since then.

Probably around 4 to 6, depending on how much I like the book. Once I read a series that I  totally loved, I ended up reading about 1 a day... but the books were pretty short!

. . . pfft, you never read that much. I read more than you; how do you read more books than me?!

Your books are about twice as long as mine, and I had a lot of extra time during that week, and you've been writing more than me. Satisfied? :D

Mmm . . . for now.

4. What is the last book you rated 5 stars?
*Checks Goodreads* Guyssss *cries* I haven't rated a book 5 stars since February! The closest I've come is 4.5 stars. Hide and Seek by Jeff Strueker and Alton Gansky was soooo amazing. I don't give many books 5 stars. ;)

I have never physically rated anything, but in my mind... I would have to say Price of Truth by Susan K. Marlow! *Heart eyes with drool running down my chin* This book is SOOO amazing! Guys, I just can't describe!

5. First person or third person? Past or present narrative?
Ohh man . . . I don't know! I think my favorite to read is 3rd person, past tense. But Beloved is 1st person, present tense, so I obviously love writing it. So, I mean, that's pretty close up there. ;)

3rd person, past tense. But then again, I haven't read much 1st person, or present tense.

6. What book do you relate to the main character the most?
I honestly can't think of anyone right off the top of my head except Andi from the Circle C series. Our likes/preferences are pretty much opposite, but our personalities are so similar it's almost scary. ;)

Definitely I would say Sadie from the Sadie Rose Adventures by Hilda Stahl. I'm also a lot like Andi, but I would almost say I'm more Chad.

*Smirks* Most definitely. Pretty sure you talk more than Chad, though. Probably more than Chad and Sadie combined.

:P

7. What is the most over-used plot twist that drives you crazy?
Ughh, when two characters who hate each other and end up falling in love. Can't stand it.

Same. Especially when they fall into a life-or-death situation and realize that they can't live without each other. *Shudders*

8. Name three books that you absolutely love the cover design.
Chosen by a horse by Susan Richards, is my favorite cover. SO BEAUTIFUL! I started the book, and didn't care for it, but then again I didn't get very far into it.

From Ashes to Honor by Loree Lough. I've never read it, but I fell in love with the cover when I saw it!

I actually read From Ashes to Honor . . . not really recommended. ;P

Seek by Angela R. Watts is just... WOW!! It's simple but SO AMAZING!

Yessss, I'm currently reading Seek and it's so good so far!!

It was hard for me to choose between Seek, As in Olden Days by Jesseca Wheaton, Dandelion Dust by Faith Potts, and Beloved by Kaitlyn Krispense... Yes Kaitlyn, your cover is beautiful.

Dawwww, thanks ^-^

Don't let it go to your head. ;P

Mmkay, sure. Anyway, now for my three favorites! (This is my favorite question of the whole tag ^-^)
First of all, we've got Fawkes by Nadine Brandes. It's so, so gorgeous, y'all. Liiiiike . . . *alllll the heart eyes*

Next up—Gunner's Run by Rick Barry! Like, seriously, what's not to like??

If they have 1. American flags 2. horses or 3. bullets or guns... they have to be beautiful!

As evidenced in your favorite covers, of course.
Now, for my third cover . . . so hard to pick! But I choose Unblemished by Sara Ella. It's so . . . well, for lack of a better word . . . beautiful. You, Squirt, might call it too frilly. I mean, it doesn't have guns or flags on it. But it's still super pretty. ;)

Or horses. Can't forget the horses.

Mmm, yeah, sure. Can't forget them.

There is just one thing that all the covers are missing that would totally blow them off the chart though. It would make them bestsellers all over the world!

Oh?

My face. :D

9. What book series would you recommend to your best friend?
That is like asking a mother which of her kids is her favorite! I could narrow it down to—in no particular order—Horses and Friends by Miralee Ferrel, Sadie Rose Adventures by Hilda Stahl, Winnie the Horse Gentler by Dandi Daley Mackall, Circle C Adventures by Susan K. Marlow, and last but not least, Phantom Stallion by Terri Farley!

I agree with Kara. It's awful to pick just one! But, since her too long list has the series I would've said (Circle C Adventures/Milestones), I'll say the Sgt. Major Eric Moyer series by Jeff Strueker & Alton Gansky. If you follow me on Goodreads, you've heard me talk about this series more than once, and you'll hear me talk about it again. Intense. Clean. Faaaabulousnesssss.

10. A book that you liked a side character better then the main character.
Tyler from Live Without You by Sarah Grace Grzy. Seriously, y'all, I liked Ezra and all, but Tyler needs love. And I shall give it to him. XD

I'm only on my second book, but from the one I'm currently reading and the one I already read, in Sisters in Time I like side characters way better.

I hope y'all enjoyed the tag fullllll of books. Books make me happy. *grins*

I tag:
Megs
Molly
Angela
Liz
Lilian

Kara has helped me come up with questions for you:

1. What are three of your favorite book covers?
2. What is one of your favorite book series?
3. Do you prefer new books or the classics?
4. What is your least favorite book cover?
5. On your physical bookshelf, what is the 17th book in line (if you have that many)?
6. What is your favorite genre to read? If historical, which era?
7. Do you prefer paperbacks or ebooks?
8. Do you prefer matte or glossy covers?
9. What is a book on your shelf that you'll probably never read?
10. In your opinion, what object or color just really improves a cover?

If this tag looks fun, drop me a comment and consider yourself tagged, too! ;)

Tagged Twice {the #AwesomeBlogger Award}

As you can obviously tell by the post's title, I've been tagged twice! So, I figured I'd better actually do it this time. ;) Thanks to Molly and Brooklyne for tagging me with the #AwesomeBlogger Award!

The rules:
-Tag your post with #awesome blogger award (done!)
-Answer all the questions given to you
-Nominate at least 5 bloggers and inform them of their nomination
-Give them 10 new questions to answer

Molly's questions:

1. Do you like NASCAR? If so, who is your favorite driver?

Uh . . . no? XD I honestly hardly watch NASCAR at all, soooo I couldn't even begin to tell you who the drivers are.

2. Have you ever been pulled over? If so, why and did you get a ticket and who paid for the ticket?

Again, no. Wow, these answers are starting to get boring . . .

3. What is your least favorite musical instrument?

Um . . . probably the recorder. Unless it's played right. But basically the only experience I've had with the recorder wasn't very enjoyable, soooo

4. What is the silliest/most embarrassing thing you did when you were a kid?
Oh goodness, this is hard . . . I'll have to come back to this one.
*finishes other questions*
Okay, after enlisting the help of my mom and sister . . . I fell off chairs. Really. I'd balance on them wrong, and just fall off. My dad and brothers never let me forget that chairs used to buck me off. ;P

5. What do you do when you're stressed?

Try to keep calm. While giving myself gray hairs a few years early. (well okay, I don't have gray hairs. Yet.) If possible, I like to make out a list of things I have to get done, and it makes all the tasks seem less overwhelming.

6. What was the biggest/most expensive thing you bought that you regret buying?
Well, keep in mind that I'm very much a penny pincher—my father instilled that in all his kids, and some—like me—picked it up more than others (really, the only thing I really spend much money on is books). So I've got two things I regret buying: origami paper and a piano book. I used like, 4 sheets of the 20 in the box, and I quickly advanced out of the piano book.

7. How many houses have you lived in?

Like, as a visit or as in, lived lived? Assuming this means that I actually dwelt in this house for more than five days . . . one. One house. I know, another boring answer, buuuut it's true. And I love this house. ;)

8. What is the item that you most regret getting rid of?

Um . . . I honestly can't think of anything...except my siblings and I got so upset at my grandma for getting rid of our favorite toy. (I mean, it was for little kids, and we were too old for it. But still.) Yeah, I know, it technically doesn't answer the question, but hey, it'll work.

9. Who is your favorite author?

Uggghhh . . . why must these be so HARD?! I'll give you two, because I really don't have just ONE favorite—the struggle is real, y'all. Jeff Strueker and Susan K. Marlow. Now, I've got SO MANY favorite authors, but these two take the cake. (And yeah, I'll probably read this post later and think, why didn't I mention THAT AUTHOR?? But it's okay, I like these two.)

10. Do your siblings stalk your blog and discover who comments on it before you do? (mine do) ;)

Sometimes, actually. But I get email notifications for each one, so usually I catch them before my siblings. But yes, they often check my blog for comments, especially if it's a post they really like.

Brooklyne's questions:

1. What is one thing that makes you sparkle? (what you get excited about...)
Okay, I'm going to sound contradictory and say people. Because while I'm an introvert (an introvert that plays extrovert to make people comfortable, so if you ever meet me and I'm super bubbly, it probably means I'm trying to make the conversation less awkward), I still do need people. I love camaraderie, I love being a part of a group. I don't really like always being the quiet person that gets ignored, but I definitely don't like being the center of attention.

2. After a long day, would you rather watch a movie with your family or read a good book?

Oh, goodness, I guess it depends. Sometimes all I want to do is shut myself away from people and just read. But, other times, I want to laugh my head off with my siblings and watch a movie with everyone.

3. Have you ever tried writing backwards or upside down? Or both at the same time?
Actually, yes. Backwards for sure. Upside down? I think so . . . both? Don't remember, actually. It's been awhile. ;)

4. What is one sport that you are really good at?
Well, I'm not really good at sports, but I've grown up playing football with the guys, so I'm not too bad at it. I can throw, I can catch, and I can punt. Tackling depends on the person. *smirks*
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm a pretty fair roller skater. ;) I mean, I'm not too bad at bowling either, but that doesn't really seem like a sport to me . . .

5. What is one sport that you better sit out on?...or else things could be disastrous.
Baseball. I love watching it, but honestly, I'm pretty awful. And not knowing all the rules really makes it more difficult.

6. What is one book that you could read over and over again and never tire of it? And what makes that book so memorable?
Punchinello and the Most Marvelous Gift by Max Lucado. It's a children's book, but when I was younger, each of us children could pick a book for our parents to read to us. Kordell and I both always picked this one, and we just loved it so much. I still love reading it!

7. What is a life lesson that God has taught you through a difficult time in your life?
People are not gods. You can't depend on others for things which they were never created. Your fulfillment comes through Christ, and when you put your trust in anything less than God—especially people—you're gonna end up lonely and confused. Never forget the One who created and loves you, y'all.

8. What is a book in the Bible that you rarely ever read?
Song of Solomon. Need I say more? ;)

9. What do you love about blogging?
I love interacting with others, and having my little corner of the world. Yes, y'all, even if I never take the time to reply, I read each and every comment, and I appreciate y'all's support. <3

10. And a fun one, if you could create a dessert that has never been made before, what would you create?
I don't know . . . something chocolate. *scratches head* OH! This has probably been made before, but like, a layered shortbread cake with chocolate ganache and strawberries between each layer, and on top, and smothered in whipped cream. *heart eyes*
If you actually read all that, well done! I'm impressed. ;)

I tag: LiviTabby Anne, Faith G.Rebekah A., and Hosanna.

Your questions:
1. What is one thing that make you sparkle? (Something that you get excited about)
2. What is your favorite musical instrument?
3. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?
4. What is your 'theme song'? (This could be an all-time favorite, or a song that describes your situation)
5. What's your favorite thing about blogging?
6. Of all of your hobbies, what is your favorite and how did you get started on it?
7. Who is your favorite author, and which of their books is your favorite?
8. Which is your favorite book of the Bible, and why?
9. Which of the four seasons best describes your personality?
10. What is one thing that God has taught you recently?

The Mystery Blogger Award

Hey folks, I was tagged by the lovely Angela @ The Peculiar Messenger (thank you, by the way) for the Mystery Blogger Award!  I haven't done any tags in ages, so I guess it's about time I do another one.

What is the Mystery Blogger Award, you ask?  Well, I'm not exactly sure myself.  Except that it reminds me a lot of the Liebster Award you might've seen floating around.  So I kinda stole copied this quote from Angela's blog:

“This is an award for amazing bloggers with indigenous posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging and they do it with so much love and passion.” – Okoto Enigma

What a compliment!

Rules:
-Thank whoever nominated you and include a link to their blog
-Tell your readers three things about yourself
-Nominate 10-20 bloggers you feel deserve the reward
-Answer the questions from the person who nominated you
-Ask your nominees 5 questions of your choice with one weird or funny one
-Notify your nominees by commenting on their blogs

Well now, I've never been one to exactly go with the crowd.  So I'm gonna be a little rebel and answer the questions first, and then I'll give you three facts about myself.
Just to shake things up.

Questions:

1. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Hm... well, I don't know if this could technically count as a 'superpower', but I'd want the power to be able to know the right things to say at the right times.  As my dad says, "you have two ears and one mouth—use them in that proportion."  It'd be nice to know when to talk and when to listen.  Because too often I, as John Wayne would say, am "short on ears and long on mouth".
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak. ~Ecclesiastes 3:7

2. What are three hobbies you enjoy doing in the summer?
I would say gardening because I'm actually learning to enjoy it, but it's more of a full-time job than a hobby.  But I don't get paid for it.
Except with food.
But as for other hobbies?  Reading and writing would definitely be vying for first place... but reading will always be my first choice.  Then writing.
And a third hobby?  Hmm... well, I'm not sure if this could be classified as a 'hobby' per se, but riding with Kordell in the tractor.  Hauling bales, baling, running the grain cart, hauling manure... we've done it all (you can read all about that here).
Or rather... he's done it all and I went along to lend moral support.

3. One hilarious thing that has happened to you during a summer?
Uh... a friend's grandma mistook me for someone else and asked if I'm engaged yet.  Does that count?
Oh, I also had a sleepover with a friend and we stayed up till 2am and ended up talking about random things like zombie bats (don't even ask).  And Mrs. Bill Clinton.  And the book of Revelation.
And I was messaging with a friend and she had a terrible typo that I won't share right now but I couldn't stop laughing at (though technically that happened in spring, but it felt like summer).

4. Have you ever done something very spontaneous?  If so, what?
Well, last summer my family took a two-night trip to Kansas City—spontaneous, as in, it wasn't preplanned until the day before.
And just the other day my sister-in-law showed up at our house and invited me to keep her company while she cleaned our church.  That's happened more than once.
This post was slightly spontaneous.
I am very spontaneous. *nods*

5. Do you have any pets?
Two dogs, T-Bone and Bandit.  They're technically not mine, buuuut we kinda share the yard.  Bandit is a sweetheart—lazy, but a sweetheart nonetheless—and T-Bone is a grumpy old man (in his 80's in dog years).
Also, they're definitely not house pets, in case you were wondering. ;P

Bandit
Well now, that was interesting!

Three Random Facts:
-When I get tired, I get goofy.  Really goofy.  Just ask the people who've had sleepovers with me.
-I'm a rollercoaster junkie.
-My twin and I have identical initials.  And my sis.

I Tag:
Rebekah @ Rebekah's Remarks
Mary @ Sunshine & Scribblings
Carissa @ Run With Endurance
Blessing Counter @ Counting Your Blessings
Livi @ Living For the Other Side

Yes, I know that's only five.
But hey, like I said, I'm not one to follow the crowd.

Your Questions:
1. What's your favorite type of weather (cold, sunny, rainy, etc.)?
2. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
3. What are your three favorite summer hobbies?
4. If you could be any person you wished for a day, who would you pick and why?
5. What would be one piece of advice you'd give to a clock?

Until next time,
~Kaitlyn

The Back-to-School Tag

Well, I'm back!
Did you actually think I would abandon you again?
(Don't answer that question.)
Anyway.
The lovely Angela @ The Peculiar Messenger tagged me for the Back-to-School Tag!  (Thank you bunches, you wonderful person!)

Rules:
1. Thank the person who tagged you.
2. Answer the questions.
3. Post new questions (yeah... we'll see about that).
4. Tag as many people as you want.
5. Wear something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue (Huh?  I thought this applied to weddings...).
6. Don't die (well, it's school, sooooo...).

The Questions:

1. What grade are you in, and how old are you?
Umm... can I plead the fifth on this one? XP

2. Are you homeschooled, private schooled, or public schooled?  Do you enjoy your type of schooling?
Well, according to my bio, I'm homeschooled (and bios never lie, people).  As for enjoying it... let's put it this way: as far as school goes, I wouldn't want it any other way.  But if I could just like, have all this knowledge without studying, I think I would go that route. ;P

3. What is your favorite subject?
That's... hard.  Umm... *strikes a studious pose* history.  Although I'm not quite the fan of world history, I do enjoy it—to an extent—and since Mom reads it aloud, I get to do other stuff (like crochet) while listening. :)

4. What is your least favorite subject?
Math, hands down.  Why, you ask? well, 1) because my brain refuses to function half the time, 2) the other half of the time I get distracted and stare out the window for minutes at a time, and 3) because when I do actually do it, it takes me ten minutes for one problem (no, I don't exaggerate.  Nope.).

5. One thing you learned when you were younger that is still in your head?
Oh goodness, there's an endless supply of answers to that question... how to read, tell time, simple arithmetic, etc.  As for something random... idk.  I'll let you know when I think of something. XP
*five minutes later*
OH!  When I was in kindergarten, I remember every Monday Kord and I got to color big cutouts of the alphabet—one of us would color the uppercase letter, and the other would color the lowercase letter.  I always looked forward to that. :D
On a random note: I remember thinking that a week was literally a year, so I thought the next Monday would be... a reallllly long time... so yeah.  I was happy when it was only seven days. XD

6. Do you study hard or wing it, most often?
Well, I'm homeschooled, so I'm always studying... XD
But for a test (yes, we homeschoolers do have tests), I sometimes study, but often I wing it, depending on what I'm being tested on. ;P

7. Your way to study is...?
Basically review, skim over notes, etc., and hope for the best. ;P

8. What is one subject you want to work really hard on this year, to better yourself?
Math.  Namely, geometry (and this may or may not be because I want to finish the curriculum by the end of this semester).

9. Any extracurricular activities this year?  What are they?
My family?   Extracurricular?? HAHA, you must be talking about someone else. XD
(Actually, I'll probably be taking ASL or something like that next year.)

10. What is one thing you look forward to this particular year of school?  What does this year mean for you?
Uh... Christmas break? XD
Angela, WHY did you have to make these questions so HARRRRD?!
Oh boy... something I look forward to this particular year... the end of ancient history so that next year we can get into more modern stuff? I don't know. XP
What does this year mean for me?  Um... it means that I'm yet another year older, and soon enough I'm gonna have to grow up and like, become an adult.  With responsibilities.  Yikes.

11. What was one thing that school introduced you to, that made you look farther into, and that you still really enjoy?
RRRREEEEAAAADDDDIIIINNNNGGGG.
Like, seriously, ever since I learned to read, I was HOOKED, and I've loved it ever since.

12.  If you could take a dream field trip, where would you go and what would you do?
A huge library (like the one from Beauty and the Beast) and do nothing but organize books (and read them, of course).  WHO'S WITH ME??

OHMEGOODNESS LOOK AT THE BOOTIFULNESSSSSS
13.  Are you excited for school?  If so, why?  If not, why?
Well, we've been in school for like over a month already but before then I was not looking forward to it.  Why?  Because there goes half my day, out the window (or slammed in books, whichever you prefer).  Can you tell I'm not a fan of school? XP

14.  BONUS, USELESS QUESTION: Can you recite the alphabet backwards out loud?
Uh... I can't remember ever trying to. XD
*tries it suddenly* *Kara gives me a weird look* *fails miserably*
Nope. XD

I Tag:
Um... there's not many I can tag. XP
How 'bout... if you want to do it, feel free to do so with Angela's wonderful questions (we'll ignore that this is sorta kinda cheating, 'cause I've never done this before.  Forgive me?)

Well people, I hope you enjoyed my rantings about school. XD
Ta ta!

The Liebster Award

Hi people!

Faith from Chosen Vessels tagged me for the Liebster Award—thank you, Faith! ;)

The Rules:
-Link back to the person that tagged you (check!)
-Answer the eleven questions.
-Tag eleven bloggers, and let them know you tagged them.
-Ask your tagged bloggers eleven questions.

Questions:

1.) What made you want to start a blog?

Probably seeing all the other tags/interactions between other bloggers.  It made me want to join. ;)

2.) What does your first name mean?

3.) Did you know when you were younger what you wanted to be/do when you grew up? Do you know or have any idea now what you want to do?

Um, not really, aside from the fact that I wanted to be just like my mama. ;)
Now?  Actually, I don't know.  Sometimes I feel like I want to be a writer, sometimes a graphic designer, sometimes a musician.  We'll see what God has planned for me.

4.) If you could see yourself from someone else's perspective, who's perspective would you choose and why? (It could be a family member's, a friend's, your local librarian's, etc.)

Um… oh boy.  That's a tough question. ;P
I'll say… the little kids that I like to play with.  Not necessarily any one in particular, but… I'd like to know what they think of the crazy teenager that messes around with them. ;)

5.) What was the last book you read? What was your opinion of it? Did you like it, or not so much?

The last book I read was Where the Lilies Bloom by Vera and Bill Cleaver.  I enjoyed it, though the style was a bit different from what I'm used to and therefore I wouldn't want to read it every day.

6.) What was the last movie you watched? What was your opinion of it? Did you like it, or no?

From Google
"Last Ounce of Courage".  It was AMAZING, and I would HIGHLY recommend it!!

7.) What is your favorite movie adaptation of a book?

From Google
"Swiss Family Robinson".  I've seen that movie several times, and it never grows old.  Especially the part with fighting the pirates. ;)

8.) What quote (from a book, movie, or YouTube video) do you find yourself saying often?

"How 'bout no."
Yes, that is really a quote from a YouTube video that a friend once showed me.

9.) If you could live in any other previous time period, which one would you choose?

Uh… probably 1800's.  That's when a lot of the westerns took place, you'll remember. ;)

10.) What would you consider your favorite thing to do in your free time? What do you ACTUALLY end up doing in your free time?

Do I have to pick just ONE favorite?  How 'bout no. B-)
I'll give three favorites: Reading, writing, and watching old westerns.
And, that's a lot of what I end up doing during my free time, along with writing emails, chatting with friends, and blogging.

11.) What is one thing that you always want people to remember about you after you're gone?

I lived, I laughed, I loved.  And that "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, with give to me on that day, and not to me only, but also to all who have loved His appearing."

Shhh, I know that's not 11 bloggers.  Who's counting?

The Questions:
1: What is your favorite hobby?
2: What does your first name mean?
3: What is your favorite family memory?
4: What's your personality type?
5: If you had the opportunity to have a 4-course meal, all with foods you choose, what would the meal consist of?

2016 Bookish Recap Tag

Hi People!

Faith at Stories by Firefly tagged me for this fun-looking (but also very hard-looking) BOOK tag!!!
I love books.
A lot.
Just ask those who know me well.  So, I am obviously thrilled to be doing this tag.
My brother says that I should be asking important questions like "How many goats did you see this year?" and "How many Royals games did you see?"
Well, I'll keep this to books, thanks, bro. XD

Rules:
-Include the above button in your post
-Answer the 11 questions
-Use as many book covers as you like. (The correct answer to this question would be ALOT. B-))
-Tag 5-10 people and notify them that they have been tagged.

Questions:
How many books did you read in 2016? (Exact if you know, or approximate if not.)
Um, I have no idea.  Maybe 70 or 80?  I didn't read as much as I normally do.

Did you set a reading challenge for yourself and, if so, did you meet it?
No, I didn't, so it all depends on how you look at it as to whether or not I met it or not. ;)

What was your most read genre this year? Least read?
Most read: Historical Fiction.  Least read?  Um, probably biographies. *Can't remember if I even read any biographies this year*

What's five of your favorite books from 2016?
This… this is impossible.  But I'll do my best to pick only five.

-Defy by Tricia Mingerink

-Heartbreak Trail by Susan K. Marlow

-The Last Ride by Susan K. Marlow

-Kingdom's Dawn by Chuck Black

-Beyond the Horizon by Jesseca Wheaton

These are all books well worth reading if you haven't before. :D

What's five of your least favorite books from 2016?
Um… my mind is seriously going blank right now.  But, I read several books by Gary Paulsen this year, and I didn't like his style as much as I remembered.  So, I guess I'll say that. ;P

// What new favorite author did you discover? (Not necessarily that the author is 'new', but that they became new to you this year.)
Tricia Mingerink.  I saw Defy's blog tour, and I thought the book looked really good.  So I got them for Christmas.  I read all three of The Blades of Acktar within 4 days.

What's five of your favorite book covers from the year?

This book hasn't actually been published yet (end of this month!!), but I'll add it anyway ;)

How many books did you purchase for yourself in 2016? (Exact if you know, approximate if not.)
For myself?  6.  Heartbreak Trail and The Last Ride by Susan K. Marlow, Snow Treasure by Marie McSwigan, What Child is This by Caroline B. Cooney, Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell, and Where the Lilies Bloom by Vera and Bill Cleaver.
All but the two by Susan Marlow I got at the used book store.

What's the longest book you read in 2016?
Defy by Tricia Mingerink. It's 385 pages long.

// What's the shortest book you read in 2016?
The Mystery on the Train (not published) by Lydia Dyslin.  19 pages.

// What's your reading goal for 2017?
At least 100 books.  If possible. ;)

And now
I Tag:

So, people, I hope you enjoyed looking at all these amazing covers as much as I did, and maybe you found some books you'd like to try. :)
Have y'all read any of these?
