Beyond the Horizon: Blog Tour

Hi people!
Today is the release day for Jesseca Wheaton's novella, Beyond the Horizon!  You might remember that I was part of the cover reveal, and today I'm here with a review!

About the Book:
Eliana longs to see the world beyond the mountains that tower above Salzburg, Austria, but knows that dream will never see such adventure- and neither will she.

Surrounded by a world of cruelty, she lives for the weekly visits of Aron, a boy she met on one of her rambles through the countryside.

But as the years pass and she begins to grow older, a new and unwelcome world is opened up to her.
On a fateful night at a party she vowed she’d never attend, she comes face to face with a shocking truth.

As the world around her teeters on the brink of war, Eliana struggles to figure out just where her loyalty lies; a decision that will drastically change the course of her life. Will she ever be free to see what lies beyond the horizon?

My rating: 4.5 stars
I'll just start off this review by saying that Jesseca is one of my favorite authors. She's excellent at capturing emotion, and pulling the reader into the story.
As a person who is not a romance fan, I loved this story. And I almost gave it 5 stars, but like I said, I'm a person who is not a fan of romance, so there was one scene in particular I didn't care for. But, I am a "World War Two convert", as someone would say--I love learning and reading about WWII. Therefore, you can imagine how much I liked this story. ;)
Elly is... so innocently sweet. And Aron! Augh, he was awesome. Oh, and WILHELM!!! Favorite character. But... I won't say much 'bout him, 'cause I don't want to give y'all any spoilers. ;) But, I will say that I did NOT see that coming. And I hope I'm getting you so hopelessly confused and curious that you want to go buy the book. XD

About the Author:

Jesseca is an 18-year old daughter, sister, and a child of God. Her days are spent reading, cooking, spending time with siblings, or playing piano.  And writing, of course! At an early age words fascinated her, and her love for the printed page has only grown. She lives with her parents and seven siblings in the sunny state of Kansas, and she’s convinced there’s no place like home.

I'll admit, this is a rather random song.  But I really like this song, and this version is cool. ;)

  2. *sighs* Whew! You did do a nice review! ;) I think I do a better job with my minor guy characters than my main guy characters; they always seem to be more popular with the ladies! xD Thanks so much for being a part of the blog tour, and for reviewing it!
